In Social Studies we have been doing presentations about the stuff back in the old days. But my friend and I did a presentation about the 21st century. But for the last 2 weeks, we have been writing an essay about Technology And Change.

The Glossary of Education Reform defines 21st-century skills as “a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed to be critically important to success in today's world, particularly in collegiate programs and contemporary careers and workplaces.” the 21st Century period, there were some significant technological advancements. Some of the inventions were Touch Screen Glass, 3D Printing, and the Birth Control Patch.

The Touch Screen Glass was created in 2007 and also it is a super-thin, chemically strengthened glass that is a key component of the touchscreen world. This sturdy transparent material that helps keep your Ipad or phone from shattering into pieces at the slightest drop. Even if these screens crack, in most cases the damage is cosmetic and the gadget still works. The Touch-Glass system allows touchscreen type control through glass windows on retail and other outlets. Touch-Glass has the function of a touch screen but its functionality opens up a wide spectrum of possibilities and applications. Touch-Glass is a computer interface or device that controls up to 16 sensors.

3D printing was created and produced between the 1990s and early 2000s. Most inventions come as a
result of the previous ideas and concepts, also 3D printing is no different.  The convergence of cheaper
manufacturing methods and open-source software, however, has led to a revolution of 3D printing in
recent years. Today, the technology is being used in the production of everything from lower-cost car
parts to bridges to less painful ballet slippers and it is even considered for artificial organs. 3D printing
or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file.
The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. 3D printing enables you to
produce complex shapes using less material than traditional manufacturing methods.

The early years of millennia have brought about an innovation in family planning, albeit one that is still
focused only on women and does nothing to protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Still, the birth control patch was first released in the United States in 2002  and has made it much easier for

women to prevent unintended pregnancies. The plastic patch contains the same estrogen and progesterone

hormones found in birth control pills and delivers them in the same manner as nicotine patches do to help

people quit tobacco products. It was invented in 2002. The birth control patch for women is a type of

contraception that contains the hormones estrogen and progestin. You place the small patch on your

skin once a week for three weeks, so that you wear a patch for a total of 21 days. During the fourth week,

you don't wear a patch that allows menstrual bleeding to occur. 

In conclusion, you have now learned about the Touch Screen Glass, 3D Printing,
and the Birth Control Patch. These are now what we use nowadays but not back in the olden days.
But in my opinion, it is better now because it is way more fancier, and back then it probably wouldn’t
go so well. But then it wasn’t made in the 1990s ect.
